Hi, my name is Matilda with Faith, Hope and Lipstick and these two incredible humans are my beautiful girls. You've got Miss Olivia Faith (Left) and Miss Aleena Hope (Right). They are my reason for sleepless nights, hectic schedules, belly laughs and uncontrollable tears. They are why I sleep with one eye open and why I wear my heart on my sleeve. They have shown me unconditional love like I've never experienced before and I have learned so much about myself because of them...

Faith, Hope and Lipstick was created around my two favorites topics, my children and makeup. It started a few years after I became a mother. I started to feel like I was losing bits and pieces of who I was before I became a mom. Now, don't get me wrong, being a mother is my greatest joy and accomplishment, I just started to feel like I was missing out on my fullest potential. As a Freelance Makeup Artist I was meeting other women just like me who were juggling careers and motherhood all at the same time. I was meeting SAHM who gave up careers and adult conversations for the well-being of their children. No matter the situation, one common factor we all shared was the time we invested into ourselves, daily. We didn't have time to do the things we enjoyed like we use to. Many of us let ourselves go. Life was rushing by and it just felt like we couldn't catch up. Next thing we knew, we didn't have time to take a shower that day, we were still in our pjs at school pickup, we had fed the kids and husband, packed everyone's lunches...but somehow forgot to feed ourselves. As this routine became a habit it eventually led to less time on what makes us feel better and more time on what our family needed. Our family is our priority that's for sure, but at what point do we consider adding ourselves into the equation? One day, I remember looking at myself in the mirror and not recognizing the person looking back at me. That was when Faith, Hope and Lipstick became a thing...

FHL was created out of love and support for myself and my fellow moms. I wanted to create a virtual place where we can all gather for motherhood, makeup and everything in between. A place where we aren't ashamed to admit that we did something for ourselves. FHL was created to motivate moms to give themselves 15-20 minutes every morning to do whatever it is they wanted without feeling guilty. The one most important thing I realized when doing a woman's makeup was the way she felt when I handed her a mirror once I was done. There was a sparkle in her eye, a smile and a sense of confidence. That spoke volumes to me. I'm not saying go get your makeup done. I'm not saying to go full glam (unless that's your thing). All I am saying is when you feel good about yourself, nothing will stop you! Take the time for you.

I want every FHL mother/woman to feel empowered within herself. If a little bit of makeup and 15 minutes of you time in the morning is going to allow you to have a better day, do it! The love and the time you invest in your family will never change...if anything it will get better because you took care of you first.

Thanks for following my journey. Let's do this together!

XoXo!

Let's Not Forget the hubby...

My rock, my best friend, my better half. He is the reason I am who I am as a mother and a wife. His support means the world to me!

He always say, A Happy Wife is a Happy Life...

I think he's on to something!
