Well ya'll it's finally FRIDAY! Thank you Lord! Besides the fun weekend ahead of us, I'm mostly excited for another Friday Favorites! This one includes some of my favorite drinks and I'm not talking about my liquor, okay maybe I am? Only one made the list...heehee! That being said, my favorite drinks can be anything from juices to coffee to alcohol perhaps. Whether it be store bought, homemade or ordered off the cocktail menu, these are some of my must-haves!
Lets start with store bought:
Chai Tea Latte from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is to die for! It's a delicious blend of concentrated tea leaves and steamed milk. They also add a vanilla powder to this drink. Its the perfect, tasty and creamy drink for those cold winter days/nights...or heck, whenever I feel like having the most yummiest chai tea latte ever!
Medicine Ball from Starbucks is my newest ADDICTION...OMG! Why didn't I know about this sooner? Did you? I can't possibly be the only person who didn't know there was such a thing as the medicine ball on Starbucks "secret menu"! Did you know Starbucks even had a secret menu? Well it does! This is a great anytime tea but even more perfect for when you're under the weather. It is filled half with steamed lemonade and half with hot water and comes with two tea bags, Teavana Jade Citrus Mint Tea and a bag of Teavana Peach Tranquility. They add honey and a pump of peppermint (optional) to the tea. I can't even tell you...I always order a venti. Keep in mind this tea is kinda sweet so if you're not into sweeter drinks this might not be for you. I suggest ordering a tall and trying it out!
Apple Lemon Ginger Cayenne from Pressed Juicery is referred to as Apple Juice with a Kick and it is exactly that! This is totally what you need when you're fighting off the flu or even to just avoid getting sick. If you're someone who loves spicy flavors (like me) then this is the drink for you! The Cayenne and Ginger are great for clearing your sinuses and soothing an upset stomach. The lemon is great for speeding up the metabolism and works as a detoxifier. The apple juice sweetens everything up. Its the perfect blend. It's quite the kicker (you've been warned) thanks to the cayenne but I personally love it!

Spinach and Date Smoothie
1 large banana
2 cups of Spinach
1 1/2 cups of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
1 tbsp Organic Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
1 tbsp Raw & Unfiltered Honey
- You can add and substitute ingredients with whatever you want. That's what we did with this smoothie. Found something similar online and added to it each time making it our own delish version.
- Add ice to thicken it up. Depending on how thick you want it, determines how much ice is needed.
- Add protein powder to help keep you fuller for longer. Though this keeps me full for quite some time.
- I would like to add...I absolutely despise dates. They remind me of cockroaches and the texture is weird. However, they taste bomb in this smoothie. Go figure!
1 Sambozan Acai Puree
1 Cup Frozen Mixed Berries
1 Large Banana
1tbsp Organic Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
2 tbsp Raw & Unfiltered Honey
1 1/2 cups Coconut water
- If you prefer more of an Acai Bowl, add less coconut water to keep it thicker. You can add almond slivers and cut more fresh fruit to top it off.
- Add any fruit you'd like with this. This is just my go to for now. I love it!
- Add protein powder to help keep you fuller for longer or even a tbsp of almond butter would be tasty.
Drinks I order off the menu:
Let me clarify...it's just one particular drink, if done right and served in a chilled copper mug...then I'm sold and I'll add it to my list of favorite drinks! However, if it isn't done right then it just tastes like water and vodka. Blah! Can you guess what it is? MOSCOW MULE! I have come to terms that this is the drink I search for on the menu over everything else. If I'm not into wine that night, you better bet it's because I'm in the mood for my mule. This cocktail is made with vodka, spicy ginger beer and lime juice, garnished with a lime slice, usually served in a copper mug. So refreshing and tasty. If you want to make it at home...add 4 oz Ginger Beer, 1 1/2 oz Vodka and 1/6 oz lime juice into these mugs and enjoy!
